True myrrh (gulgul) is related to the frankincense resin. Our gulgul comes from the borders of Oman and Yemen. It is used for burning as incense for its incredible aroma and is quite pliable and sticky when held in one’s hand. In tibetan context, by burning this it represents the offering of “food” for the lower suffering realms. Beside that, it also helps to cleanse one’s energy when inhaled.
